Youths protest blockade-triggered crisis of gas, medicine, blood etc

Nov 20, 2015- Nepali people are reeling under acute humanitarian crisis due to India’s blockade under the pretext of Madhes agitation. The India’s ‘unofficial’ blockade on Nepal has drawn widespread criticisms from several quarters.

At a time when Nepal is struggling to get over the nightmare of catastrophic April earthquake, the India’s blockade has added to the woes of Nepali, thereby making their life chaotic.

Amidst such crisis, youths in Kathmandu organised a symbolic protests against India’s blockade on Friday.

The protest was intended towards drawing the attention of concerned authorities and stakeholders towards the shortage of blood at the blood banks, medicines,  fuel and cooking gas.

The programme was organised by Club 25 Nepal. Many youths and activists participated in the protest programme held around Basantapur Durbar Square area.

The participants carried placards that read:

Ma Rakta Data Huu, Tara Ragat Rakhne K Ma, Plastic Ko Jhola Ma? (I donate blood, but where to store it, in plastic bags?)

Gas sakiyo, Kahile Paune? (When will we get gas?)

Timi Pani Nepali, Ma Pani Nepali, Jhagda K Ko Lagi? (We all are Nepalis, then what is this dispute for?)

Jokhim Yatra Rahar Hoina, Badhyata! (Risky ride is not choice, but compulsion)
