Nov 11, 2015- House of Fashion, Nagpokhari, organised a fashion show, titled Nepal Earthquake Recovery Field Fashion Show, at the Nepal Jiang Hotel and Restaurant, Thamel, on November 10.
The show honoured the resilience displayed by Nepalis in the aftermath of the earthquake.
The fashion show, themed Thanks Nepal, featured designs by noted international fashion designer Hong Mihwa. The fundraiser showcased 60 pieces of Hong Mihwa’s previously unreleased designs which were included in a collection titled Hong Mihwa’s Nepal Clothes. The garments were made out of wild nettle—a mainstay of rural Nepali landscape.
The show also featured a variety of Indian Sarouel pants, modifications of swaddling clothes, Hanbok-inspired skirts, among others.
The designs showcased at the event will also be displayed in other South Asian countries such as India and Bhutan.
