Nov 14, 2015- The movement of goods-laden fuel trucks and tankers through Nepalgunj-Rupaidiya border point has been eased from Friday.
Thirty-two fuel tankers entered through this border on Friday and Saturday. Movement of freight trucks and tankers along this border was clamped following the death of an Indian citizen during a police firing in Birgunj.
Local Police Station Jamunaha informed 43 trucks including 22 tankers—11 with diesel, five with aviation fuel, one each with petrol and kerosene—entered Nepal on Saturday alone.
Meanwhile, large number of tankers also entered through Jogbani border point during the fived-ay Tihar festival.
Biratnagar customs office informed 166 tankers of fuel entered through this border point during the Tihar festival. The office said 102 tankers diesel, 43 tankers petrol and 21 LPG bullets entered through this entry point between Wednesday to Saturday. Over 150 freight trucks also entered Nepal from this point during this period.
